Russell van Kraayenburg, a native Texan, attended The University of Texas at Austin from 2004-2009. During that time he became actively involved in many UT organizations. He served two consecutive terms on the Executive Board of UT's largest organization: The Senate of College Councils, which is charged with representing students in academic affairs by the Board of Regents. Russell also served as various committee chairs for The College of Communication Student Council. With the help of two colleagues, Russell established UT's first fraternity for gay, bisexual, and progressive men and served as UT Austin’s Delta Lambda Phi Founding President. Russell was a panelist at the 2009 Out & Greek National GLBT Conference for Fraternities and Sororities. He attended the 2009 Clinton Global Initiative University Conference. Russell also guest lectured on GLBT issues for a UT Educational Psychology Human Sexual Relationship class in 2009.
